Christopher B. Seaman is the Robert E.R. Huntley Professor of Law at Washington and Lee University School of Law. He joined the faculty in 2012 and served as Director of the Frances Lewis Law Center from 2017 to 2023. His research focuses on intellectual property litigation, remedies for IP violations, property law, and election law.
His work examines critical intersections of law and innovation, including:
- Overly broad confidentiality agreements functioning as noncompete clauses
- IP protection frameworks for tabletop gaming industries
- Employee mobility restrictions in trade secret contexts
- Judicial remedies for intellectual property infringement
His scholarship appears in premier journals including Yale Law Journal, Iowa Law Review, and Virginia Law Review, demonstrating consistent focus on how legal doctrines impact innovation ecosystems and labor markets.
