Christopher B. Seaman is a Professor of Law and former Director of the Frances Lewis Law Center at Washington and Lee University School of Law. He joined the faculty in 2012 and has made significant contributions to intellectual property litigation, voting rights, and trade secret law. Seaman is a Robert E.R. Huntley Professor of Law, recognized for his empirical research and teaching excellence.
- Education: B.A. from Swarthmore College (2000), J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School (2004)
Seaman’s research focuses on intellectual property, patent remedies, and election law. His work includes empirical studies on patent injunctions, trade secret litigation, and the Voting Rights Act. He has been honored with the John W. Elrod Faculty Fellowship and Ethan Allen Faculty Fellow awards.
Seaman has authored numerous publications in top journals such as the Virginia Law Review, Yale Journal of Law and Technology, and Harvard Journal of Law and Technology. His recent articles examine confidentiality agreements, tabletop game IP, and noncompete litigation trends.
