Christoph Krenn

Christoph Krenn is a Senior Research Fellow and habilitation candidate at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law (MPIL). His research focuses on EU constitutional law, ECJ decision-making, internal market law, EU citizenship, and comparative constitutional law in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.

Academically, he holds a Dr. iur. (summa cum laude) from Goethe University Frankfurt (2017), with his habilitation project examining constitutional adjudication in Austria and Switzerland. He has held visiting scholar positions at the Universities of Vienna and Zurich, and fellowships including APART-GSK and Lise Meitner grants.

His work analyzes ECJ procedures, judicial accountability, and comparative constitutional systems. Notable publications include The Procedural and Organisational Law of the European Court of Justice (2022), exploring ECJ institutional dynamics, and studies on ECJ-ECHR synergies and EU legal primacy.
