Dr. Christina Nick is an Associate Professor in Applied Ethics at IDEA: The Ethics Centre, part of the School of Philosophy, Religion and History of Science at the University of Leeds. She holds roles as School Deputy Director of Student Education and Faculty Decolonising Academic Lead. Her research focuses on moral and political philosophy, particularly the problem of dirty hands, reparations for historical injustices, and secular accounts of evil. She teaches ethics to engineering students at the Southwest Jiaotong-Leeds Joint School in China and leads ethics initiatives across the Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences. Dr. Nick earned a PhD in Philosophy from the University of Leeds (2020), an MPhil in Political Theory from the University of Oxford, and a BA in Philosophy and Politics from the University of Manchester.

Research Interests: Moral and political philosophy, dirty hands theory, reparations, moral responsibility, and decolonial pedagogy. Her work explores the ethical dilemmas faced by political leaders and the broader implications for democratic systems.
Teaching & Leadership: Leads ethics education for engineering programs in China and oversees ethics training across multiple disciplines at the University of Leeds. Advocates for inclusive and decolonial approaches to teaching philosophy to non-specialists.
