Christina Dyar, PhD, serves as a research assistant professor at the Institute for Sexual and Gender Minority Health and Wellbeing at Northwestern University.
Her research program focuses on understanding and reducing health disparities affecting sexual and gender minority populations, with particular emphasis on sexual minority women and bisexual individuals. Dr. Dyar has contributed significantly to research on intimate partner violence in sexual and gender minority communities, developing culturally appropriate measurement tools specifically designed for these populations.
She co-authored research demonstrating that IPV rates are two to three times higher among sexual and gender minority populations compared to heterosexual populations, highlighting the critical need for culturally sensitive assessment instruments in this field.
