Christian Zib

Christian Zib serves as Associate Professor and Deputy Head of the Institute for Corporate and Commercial Law at the University of Vienna's Faculty of Law. He also holds the position of IT Officer for the institute and directs the Austrian Research Institute for IT Law since 2002. His academic career spans over two decades with significant contributions to Austrian and European business law frameworks.

His research focuses on Corporate Law, Commercial Register Law, Capital Markets Law, and IT Law, with particular expertise in digital transformation of business registration systems and e-commerce regulation. His work bridges traditional legal frameworks with contemporary digital challenges, influencing both academic discourse and legislative developments.

Professor Zib's publications demonstrate strong trends toward modernizing commercial law through digital solutions, with recent work emphasizing electronic incorporation processes, cross-border business registration harmonization, and transparency in company data.
