Christian Ottmann

Christian Ottmann is an Associate Professor of Molecular Cell and Structural Biology at Eindhoven University of Technology's department of Biomedical Engineering (research group Chemical Biology). He specializes in small-molecule modulation of Protein-Protein Interactions (PPIs), particularly focusing on stabilizing 14-3-3 adapter proteins. His work spans drug discovery projects targeting diseases like cancer, Alzheimer’s, and cystic fibrosis, with industry collaborations. Ottmann also coordinates EU initiatives such as the FP7 IAPP 14-3-3STABS and Horizon2020 ETN TASPPI.

Academically, he holds a PhD from Eberhard-Karls-University of Tübingen (2003) and postdoctoral experience at the Max Planck Society's Chemical Genomics Centre (2006). He founded AmbAgon Technology (2005) and was appointed at TU/e in 2012. Notable recognitions include the 2012 Innovation Award in Medicinal Chemistry and the 2013 Young Chemical Biologist Award.
