Christa Haase is an Assistant Professor at Northeastern University, with a joint appointment in the College of Engineering (Bioengineering) and College of Science (Physics). Her research focuses on developing innovative spatial and single-cell technologies to study cellular communication in health and disease.
- Education: PhD in Physical Chemistry from ETH Zurich (2015)
- Past roles: Postdoc (2021) and Instructor (2023) at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital
Her lab specializes in Image-seq, a technology combining multiphoton microscopy with single-cell RNA sequencing to isolate live cells from precise anatomical locations for transcriptomic analysis. This approach has applications in bone marrow biology, cancer research, and disease modeling.
Her recent publications highlight advancements in spatial transcriptomics, laser micromachining for tissue analysis, and terahertz radiation development. She also explores cellular communication in hematopoietic systems using image-guided sequencing.
Christa Haase's lab is located at Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts, and she can be contacted at c.haase@northeastern.edu.
