Dr Chris Moore is a Senior Lecturer in Anatomy and Physiology at the University of the West of England (UWE), serving as Programme Leader for the BSc (Hons) Biomedical Science since 2019. He holds a BSc in Biomedical Science (2002) and a PhD in Oral Biology and Dental Science (from Bristol University). A Senior Fellow of the HEA, his expertise spans anatomy, physiology, and Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL). He pioneered the H.O.R.A.C.E project, an online cross-sectional anatomy resource, and advocates for innovative teaching methods while valuing traditional approaches.
Research Interests: Wound healing, dental materials, bone remodelling, and reproductive physiology. His work on toothpaste abrasion and detergents contributed to commercial product development.
Teaching: Leads Level 1 Human Anatomy and Physiology and Level 3 Pathophysiology modules. Teaches Human Physiology, cross-sectional anatomy, and TEL strategies. Recognized for integrating technology into assessment design, emphasizing student engagement through continuous revision methods.
Awards: Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
Contributions: Advises on TEL implementation, balancing technological tools with human-centric education. Collaborates with the University of Bristol UK and has authored/co-authored studies on naloxone feasibility, assessment authenticity, and biomaterial interactions.
