Dr. Vehid Salih serves as Associate Professor (Reader) in Oral & Dental Health Research at the University of Plymouth's Peninsula Dental School within the Faculty of Health. He leads the Year 1 BDS/DTH Program and coordinates postgraduate research in dentistry. His research examines biocompatibility of natural/synthetic biomaterials for craniofacial regeneration, anatomy/physiology of craniofacial tissues, and 2D/3D in vitro modeling techniques.
Salih teaches across Bachelor of Dental Surgery, BSc Dental Therapy & Hygiene, and MSc Biomedical Science programs. As Deputy Director of Assessment for Dentistry and Medicine, he oversees evaluation frameworks while serving as Intercalation Lead for Dentistry.
Supervised research includes MSc projects in Biomedical Sciences (Messenger, Robson, Stephens) and a PhD in Dental Sciences (Gould). His laboratory focuses on tissue engineering applications for oral rehabilitation and regenerative medicine.
