Dr. Chris Evans is an Associate Professor in the Music Department at the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA), where he serves as Associate Director of Bands and Director of the Maverick Marching Band since 2016. His teaching portfolio includes Symphonic Winds, Symphonic Band, Marching Band Techniques, and Conducting courses.

Dr. Evans specializes in music pedagogy and instrumental conducting, with a focus on student development through tailored assessment and improvement strategies. He advocates for universal music education in schools and has extensive experience directing both collegiate and secondary band programs, including graduate assistantships and high school positions at Flower Mound High School (2011-2016) and Juan Seguin High School.
Professional memberships include Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA), Texas Bandmasters Association, and honors in Phi Mu Alpha, Kappa Kappa Psi, and Tau Beta Sigma. Current service roles encompass Chair of the Alumni Relations Committee, Program Coordination for Music Education and Summer Band Camps, and participation in various university and departmental councils.
