John Zarco

John Zarco, D.M.A., is an Associate Professor of Music and Director of Instrumental Ensembles at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA), where he conducts the UTSA Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, and University Band, and teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in conducting, wind literature, and music education.

Dr. Zarco specializes in music education and conducting, with a focus on wind ensemble performance and rehearsal techniques. His professional work includes guest conducting, clinician activities, and authorship of the book Rehearsing the Band, Volume 3.

He has presented at major conferences such as the Texas Music Educators Association Convention and California All-State Music Education Conference, addressing topics like effective conducting techniques and maximizing rehearsal efficiency.
