Dr. Chloe Farahar is an Associate Lecturer in Psychology and a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Kent's School of Arts. Their work focuses on neurodiversity advocacy, Autistic well-being, and inclusive education. They co-founded the Autistic Discovery Journey, a post-diagnostic support program, and developed the Aucademy platform to educate Autistic and non-Autistic learners. Farahar is a key member of the ATTUNE project, an interdisciplinary initiative funded by the Medical Research Council, Arts and Humanities Research Council, and Economic and Social Research Council. This project investigates adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) among neurodivergent youth and designs preventive arts/digital interventions. Their research also addresses mental health stigma reduction, neurodivergent-inclusive teaching, and participatory creative methods with young neurodivergent populations.
- ATTUNE Collaboration: Leads neurodiversity research, co-designing interventions with community groups through creative workshops.
- Publications: Focus on Autistic identity, mental health stigma, and pandemic-era societal cohesion.
- Awards: None explicitly listed, but their work has been supported by major UK research councils.
Farahar’s research emphasizes co-production with neurodivergent communities, redefining academic spaces to center Autistic perspectives. Their work bridges clinical, educational, and creative disciplines to foster equitable mental health outcomes.
