Chipo Simbi is a Senior Teaching Fellow at the University of Southampton's Business School within the Department of Accounting. She holds a PhD in Accounting from Rhodes University and maintains active research and teaching responsibilities.
Her research focuses on three core areas: financial reporting and capital markets behaviour, accounting education methodologies, and accounting research in emerging economies. She contributes to knowledge creation while mentoring students to become professional contributors to society.
Her 2023 publication on management accounting innovations implementation challenges reflects her expertise in emerging economy contexts. The work examines barriers to adopting new accounting frameworks in developing markets.
Chipo administers significant projects including South Africa's National Emerging Scholars Program (NESP) and the Erasmus-funded Professionalisation of University Academic Teaching (PUAT) initiative at Rhodes University.
