Lakshi Doorgakunt

Lakshi Doorgakunt is a Senior Lecturer in Accounting at the University of Southampton's School of Business. She serves as module leader for Auditing and Accounting courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and acts as Undergraduate Senior Tutor for the Accounting Department. She represents the Business School on the Senior Tutor Advisory Group and contributes to the Centre for Research in Accounting, Accountability and Governance, Centre for Accounting Education (CAE), and CESAR.

Her research focuses on Auditing, Financial Accounting, Sustainability Reporting, and Accounting Education. Current projects include studying the impact of international auditing standards on foreign direct investment flows. Her recent publications examine accounting development in Sub-Saharan Africa, public sector accounting standards in developing countries, and corporate governance mechanisms in financial instrument disclosures.

Key contributions include leading the Sustainability Reporting Project for Small and Medium Enterprises with Prof Ven Tauringana and Dr Renata Konadu. She integrates practical auditing experience into courses like principles of audit and taxation, financial accounting, and actuarial science finance.
