Chidi Anselm Odinkalu is a Professor of the Practice of International Human Rights Law at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, Tufts University, where he also chairs the LL.M Program. Currently, he leads the Truth, Justice, and Peace Commission addressing violence in southeastern Nigeria. Previously, he chaired Nigeria’s National Human Rights Commission and mediated The Gambia’s re-entry into the Commonwealth (2017). His research focuses on multilateralism in African regional systems, human rights governance, and development challenges.

Research Interests: Odinkalu explores contemporary issues in regional legal frameworks, including refugee rights, transitional justice, and democratic governance in Africa. Recent projects include analyzing the Universal Declaration of Human Rights legacy and the role of football in post-war reconstruction.
