Dr. Pacifique Manirakiza is a Full Professor and Vice-Dean of the French Common Law Program at the University of Ottawa's Faculty of Law (Common Law Section, PCLF). He teaches Canadian criminal law, international criminal law, African international law, and international human rights law.

His research focuses on intersections between international criminal justice, transitional justice, human rights law, and indigenous rights in Africa. He has contributed to landmark legal cases regarding extractive industries' impacts on communities and indigenous rights, notably the Ogiek people's case before the African Court on Human and Peoples' Rights.
