Chenguang "Edmond" Wang is a trumpet instructor at the University of Virginia's Department of Music within the College of Arts and Sciences, joining the faculty in 2024. He also serves as Interim Principal Trumpet of the Charlottesville Symphony and is a member of the University of Michigan Faculty Brass Quintet.
His performance career spans orchestral, chamber, solo, and commercial music, with past roles including Associate Principal Trumpet (Acting Principal) of the Hangzhou Philharmonic Orchestra and Guest Principal Trumpet of the Macau Orchestra. He has performed with ensembles such as the Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra and Michigan Chamber Players, and contributed to media projects for China Central Television, WBAL, Bilibili, and the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games promotional campaign.
As an educator, Wang has taught at the University of Michigan music education department and established a private studio in 2018, guiding students to top conservatories.
