Chen Yi-Ling is a PhD candidate at the Graduate Institute of East Asia Studies, National Cheng-Chi University, focusing on China's urban governance and political transformation. She served as a Visiting Fellow at the European Research Center on Contemporary Taiwan from Nov. 20th to Dec. 19th, 2012. Her research investigates political participation, local elections in China, and Taiwanese community development. She has conducted extensive fieldwork in Shenghei for over six years.
