Chen Reis is a Clinical Associate Professor and Degree Director of International Human Rights at the Josef Korbel School of International Studies, University of Denver. With over 20 years of experience, her work spans public health, international human rights law, and humanitarian studies. She has collaborated with the World Health Organization, Physicians for Human Rights, and the Women's Refugee Commission to develop policies and advocacy initiatives addressing sexual violence, gender-based violence, and humanitarian responses.
Her research focuses on sexual violence in humanitarian settings, gender-based violence against marginalized groups, and the intersection of health and human rights. Key areas include survivor-centered approaches, femicide, and policy development in conflict zones.
Chen’s publications highlight critical analyses of human rights abuses, including maternal mortality in conflict regions, child labor, and physician ethics in war zones. Her work has influenced international policies and ethical standards in humanitarian responses.
