Chase Wrenn is a Professor in the Department of Philosophy at the University of Alabama and Director of the Mind-Brain Specialization. He holds a PhD from Washington University in St. Louis (2001), an MA from the same institution (year not specified), and a BA from the University of Alabama (1996). His research focuses on truth theory, epistemology, and philosophy of mind/cognitive science. Wrenn has published extensively in top journals like Erkenntnis, Australasian Journal of Philosophy, and Philosophical Quarterly. He edited a Festschrift for Roger Gibson in 2008 and authored the influential book Truth (2014).
His work explores alethic pluralism, the relationship between truth and epistemic success, and challenges to traditional realist accounts. Wrenn’s publications span debates about the value of truth in democracy, logical pluralism, and the metaphysical status of realization. He has also contributed to naturalistic epistemology and the application of philosophical methods to cognitive science.
Wrenn’s recent research includes examining truth’s role in societal polarization and democratic virtues. His current projects continue to bridge foundational metaphysical questions with applied issues in epistemology and ethics.
