Charlotte Bolwin is a researcher at the Chair of Digital Cultures within the Faculty of Media at Bauhaus University Weimar. Since September 2022, she has been a research assistant at the university, and since May 2020, she has pursued her PhD at the DFG Graduate School "Media Anthropology." Her academic background includes a master's degree in Cultural Studies from Humboldt University Berlin (2014–2016) and undergraduate studies in Literature, Journalism, and Media Sociology at Freie Universität Berlin/Sorbonne Université de Paris (2010–2014).

Her research focuses on digital image cultures, media anthropology, and posthumanist theories. She has participated in advanced summer programs, including "Posthuman Convergences: Theories and Methodologies" (Utrecht University, 2020) and "What was 'all' nature? From Herder to Haraway" (Klassik Stiftung Weimar, 2021). Her work bridges interdisciplinary themes in media studies, cultural history, and technical systems.
