Charles R. Brown is a Professor in the Department of Biological Science at The University of Tulsa’s College of Health & Natural Sciences. A behavioral ecologist with 43 years of continuous field research on cliff swallows in western Nebraska, he has made significant contributions to understanding social behavior, disease ecology, and rapid evolutionary changes in birds.

His research explores:
- Evolutionary trade-offs in colonial living, including parasite transmission and intraspecific brood parasitism
- Adaptive morphological changes in response to climate pressures
- Behavioral shifts to avoid anthropogenic threats (e.g., road traffic)
- Host-parasite-virus coevolution dynamics
