Chantal Frindall is a Lecturer at the University of Brighton's School of Business and Law, appointed in 2020. Previously, she served as an Associate Tutor at the University of Surrey. She holds a PhD in 'Kant's Dignity and Juridical Thinking' (University of Surrey, 2024), an LLM in International Trade Law (University of Sussex, 2009), and an LLB Law Degree (2007). As a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, she specializes in the intersection of Kantian moral philosophy, human dignity, and international human rights law, particularly focusing on domestic violence cases under Article 3 of the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR). Her research examines judicial deliberation in ECHR cases, emphasizing judges' obligations and self-mastery in legal reasoning.
