Her research centers on gender-based violence against women and LGBTQI+ individuals from a human rights and feminist theoretical perspective. She critically examines national criminal justice responses in relation to international standards such as the ECHR, ECtHR jurisprudence, and the Istanbul Convention. Her work integrates radical, postmodern, intersectional, and queer theories to analyze legal frameworks and policy failures. She also explores cyber and technology-facilitated forms of violence, including IoT-enabled domestic abuse and digital-age challenges to women’s rights.
Her recent publications, including the edited volume Towards Gender Equality in Law: An Analysis of State Failures from a Global Perspective (Palgrave Macmillan), reflect a strong trend in comparative legal analysis, focusing on state accountability, anti-gender movements, and the implementation gaps in international human rights conventions. Her articles span topics such as the anti-Istanbul Convention campaigns, gender passports, and Turkey’s compliance with transnational gender violence standards.
She has received recognition for academic excellence, including the Best Student Award in her LLM specialization. She has contributed expert analyses to high-impact policy studies by the European Parliament FEMM Committee and the Council of Europe on violence against women in the digital age.
