Catrin Andersson is a Senior Lecturer in Criminology at the Sheffield Institute of Law and Justice, part of the College of Social Sciences and Arts at Sheffield Hallam University. She holds a PhD in criminal justice with a focus on violence and statistics, along with MA/MPhil degrees in forensic psychology and criminal justice, and a PgCE in teaching. Her research focuses on violence, gambling, cybercrime, research methods, and comparative criminal justice systems. Dr. Andersson has extensive experience in secondary data management, including national-level health data analysis.
Teaching interests include criminological theory, cybercrime, research methods, and violence from a comparative perspective. She has conducted research in the US and contributed to projects involving psychological, legal, and criminological studies.
Publications emphasize gambling disorder prevalence in prisons, gender dynamics in recovery pathways, and comparative criminal justice methodologies. She is a member of the American Society of Criminology’s International Criminology subdivision.
