Chanell Daniels is a Visiting Policy Fellow at the Oxford Internet Institute (OII), University of Oxford, where she contributes to research on digital governance and safety. Previously, she served as a Senior Manager at Depop, leading global trust and safety initiatives focused on child safety, extremism, abuse, and illegal content. At Meta, she managed content moderation crisis response in Sub-Saharan Africa, bridging policy, operations, and product strategies. Her career also includes roles in UK Government consumer protection policy, EU environmental agencies, and UN missions in South Sudan, Liberia, and the DRC.
Education: Master’s in International Law from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS, UK) and an Executive MBA from I.E. Business School (Spain).
Research Interests: Prioritizes online safety regulation impacts on SMEs, content moderation innovations, and emerging technology risks. Advocates for 'safety by design' frameworks and child safety in digital environments.
