Chandra Thapa

Chandra Thapa is a Professor of Finance at the University of Strathclyde's Strathclyde Business School, serving since 2012. Previously, he held a lectureship at the University of Stirling. His research focuses on ESG-related corporate financial risks, with publications in top-tier journals like Journal of Corporate Finance and Journal of Banking and Finance. He teaches courses in corporate finance, international financial management, and derivatives, earning multiple teaching awards including the 2022 University of Strathclyde Teaching Excellence Award. He has supervised six PhD candidates and currently leads 10 more. His funded projects include £78,048 from the UK Commonwealth Scholarship Programme and £163,600 from the Saudi Arabian government.
