Dr. Ellie Luu is a Lecturer in Accounting and Finance at the University of Strathclyde’s Strathclyde Business School, joining in July 2022 after completing her PhD at the University of Bristol. She holds a BSc in Accounting and Finance from the University of Bristol and an MSc in Economics and Finance from the University of Bath. She is also a visiting researcher at the Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI).
Her research focuses on corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, corporate ownership structures, and ESG finance. Recent work includes analyzing institutional investors’ behavior in M&A contexts and generational shifts in managerial roles. She has published in journals like the Review of Corporate Finance Studies and British Accounting Review.
Professional activities include peer reviewing for journals such as Corporate Governance: An International Review, organizing events like the Responsible Business Institute (2024), and serving as a programme committee member for the Responsible Finance Workshop (2025). Her teaching includes Advanced Corporate Finance and Financial Markets at the undergraduate level.
