معرفی
Chaim Putterman, MD, is a Clinical Professor at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and a practicing rheumatologist at Montefiore Health System. He specializes in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), particularly lupus nephritis, and leads research into anti-dsDNA antibodies and their role in renal pathogenesis. His work focuses on identifying cross-reactive kidney antigens like α-actinin and the TWEAK/Fn14 pathway's role in inflammation.
Education:
- MD: Israel Institute of Technology
- Residency: Jacobi Medical Center & Hadassah University Hospital
- Fellowship: Albert Einstein College of Medicine
Research Interests: Investigating mechanisms of lupus nephritis, including antibody-mediated kidney injury and cytokine/chemokine signaling in renal cells. Current projects explore α-actinin as a target antigen and TWEAK as a potential biomarker for disease activity.
Labs/Teams: Directs a research lab at Einstein focused on autoimmune disease pathogenesis and therapeutic targets.
