Celine Maerz is a Researcher at the Chair of Economic Education within the Faculty of Economics, Work and Technology at the University of Potsdam. She began her role as a research associate in April 2025, contributing to research and development in economic and technical education with a focus on inclusivity and teacher training.
Her research interests include entrepreneurship education, intersectionality, teacher professionalization, and teacher training. She is particularly engaged in exploring how gender is performed and constructed in entrepreneurial learning contexts. Her work is situated at the intersection of educational theory, social justice, and pedagogical innovation.
Celine Maerz is involved in several research and development projects such as EDU-VActoRy (using VR and AR in education), InnoWATerSpace (Maker Space for WAT), LLiT (Inclusive Technical Education Lab), Tekajj (Inclusive Technical Education), and the WÖRLD project. These initiatives reflect her commitment to innovative, inclusive, and technology-enhanced teaching practices.
She completed her Master of Education in German and Social Sciences at the University of Duisburg-Essen, with teaching qualifications for secondary and comprehensive schools. Her practical experience includes internships at Landfermann-Gymnasium Duisburg and the German International School Chicago, as well as volunteer work in gifted education. Prior to her doctoral studies, she worked as a student and research assistant in literature didactics, political science, and economics education, and supported funding programs for teacher training and higher education development through the Stifterverband.
Celine Maerz is currently pursuing her doctoral thesis on 'doing gender' in entrepreneurship education. She also contributes to teacher further education and participates in university committees and scientific activities. Her research promises to advance understanding of gender dynamics in educational settings, particularly within entrepreneurial learning environments.
