Caron Daley is an Associate Professor of Music, Director of Choral Activities, and Ensembles Area Coordinator at the Mary Pappert School of Music, Duquesne University. Her roles include leading the Duquesne University Voices of Spirit, a choir noted for performances at major academic conferences and a forthcoming album. She also established the professional ensemble Archipelago in 2024 with support from a Heinz Endowments award.
Education: D.M.A. in Choral Conducting (University of Toronto), M.M. and M.A. (Ohio State University), Artist Diploma and B.Mus. (Western University), and A.R.C.T. (Royal Conservatory of Canada). Her expertise spans conducting pedagogy, musician health, Dalcroze Eurythmics, and injury prevention for conductors.
Research focuses on choral embodiment and wellness, with presentations at international conferences and publications in journals like Choral Journal and International Journal of Research in Choral Singing. She contributes to edited volumes such as The Oxford Handbook of Musician Health Advocacy (forthcoming).
Leadership roles include National Chair for 4-year Colleges with the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA), past President of ACDA Pennsylvania, and Board Member of the National Collegiate Choral Organization. At Duquesne, she chairs the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion committee and leads musician health initiatives.
Performance experience includes singing with the National Youth Choir of Canada, Toronto Mendelssohn Choir, and guest conducting engagements across North America. Her pedagogical innovations emphasize movement-based learning and holistic choral practices.
