Caroline Wiertz is a Professor of Marketing at Bayes Business School, City St George's, University of London. She previously served as Deputy Dean until December 2023 and held leadership roles including Associate Dean for Entrepreneurship and Head of the Marketing Group. Her research focuses on consumer behavior, digital and social media marketing, and new technologies' impact on marketing practices. She has held visiting professorships at ESCP Europe and the University of Muenster, and was an International Fellow at the University of Hamburg's Research Unit on Social Media's impact on marketing.
Education: PhD in Marketing from Maastricht University (2005), MSc in International Business (2000). Professional memberships include the Association for Consumer Research, European Academy of Marketing, and American Marketing Association. She speaks Dutch, English, French, and German fluently.
Research interests emphasize digital marketing ethics, social media influence on consumer decisions, and the intersection of technology with traditional marketing strategies. Her work appears in top journals like Journal of Consumer Research and Marketing Science, with editorial roles at Journal of Interactive Marketing and NIM Marketing Intelligence Review. She has received grant funding and best paper nominations.
