Carole Jordan

Carole Jordan is Professor of Physics at the University of Oxford, where she has held academic appointments since 1994—initially as Reader in Physics (1994–1996) before advancing to Professor in 1996. She led the Rudolf Peierls Centre for Theoretical Physics as head from 2003–2008. Earlier roles include Wolfson Tutorial Fellow at Somerville College (1976) and positions at Culham Laboratory's Astrophysics Research Unit (1969–1976). She began her career as Assistant Lecturer in Astronomy at UCL (1966–1969).

Her research spans Astrophysics, Theoretical Astrophysics, and Plasma Physics, focusing on fundamental processes in stellar and solar phenomena through theoretical frameworks.

Major recognitions include:
