Carole Allamand is a Professor of French and Undergraduate Director at Rutgers University's Department of French, School of Arts and Sciences (SAS). Her research focuses on 20th/21st-century French literature, autobiography theory, psychoanalysis, and animal studies. She holds a B.A., M.A. from the University of Geneva, and a Ph.D. from Cornell University. Notable publications include Tout Garder (2022) and a translated novel Aquamarine. She directs a language immersion program in Aix-en-Provence, France, and teaches courses such as Advanced French Writing and Literary Analysis.
Awards include SAS Distinguished Undergraduate Education Award (2011) and Corson French Prize (Cornell, 1995/1998). Her work bridges creative writing, translation, and critical theory, with recent focus on hoarding narratives and postmodern autobiography.
