Nigel Saint is Associate Professor of French Studies in the School of Languages, Cultures and Societies at the University of Leeds. His academic work bridges modern French thought, literature, and the visual arts, with a focus on representation, memory, and the politics of the image.

Nigel Saint is actively involved in curriculum development, having introduced cutting-edge authors like Virginie Despentes and Édouard Louis, and thinkers such as Didi-Huberman into undergraduate teaching. He supervises research in modern theories of representation, visual culture, and 19th- to 21st-century French literature.
He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and collaborates with Professor Patrick ffrench on translating the essays of psychoanalyst Pierre Fédida into English, marking a significant contribution to cross-disciplinary scholarship.
