Carissa DiCindio is Associate Professor of Art and Visual Culture in the College of Fine Arts at the University of Arizona. She holds a PhD in art education from the University of Georgia and previously served as Curator of Education at the Georgia Museum of Art for 14 years.
Her research examines museum-community partnerships with focus on accessibility for marginalized groups. She collaborates with Tucson organizations like MOCA Tucson and ArtWorks (serving adults with developmental disabilities) to create inclusive arts programming. Her publications analyze digital self-presentation among college students and cross-cultural beauty marketing practices.
DiCindio received the National Art Education Association's Southeastern Museum Educator Award (2011) and Kathy Connors Teaching Award (2020). As Pacific Regional Director for NAEA's Higher Education Division, she advances arts education policy and pedagogy.
