Bronwyn Ewing

Adjunct Associate Professor Bronwyn Ewing is affiliated with QUT's School of Education within the Faculty of Creative Industries, Education & Social Justice. Her research focuses on equity in mathematics education, youth justice policy, and culturally responsive pedagogy, particularly for Indigenous and low socio-economic youth. She holds a PhD from Griffith University and has led over 23 research projects with 7.5 million AUD in funding.

Education: PhD in Mathematics Education (Griffith University, 2009), BTch(Hons) and BTch (Southern Cross University). She coordinates courses like Primary Mathematics Curriculum Studies and Numeracy Education.

Research Interests:

• Community Cultural Wealth frameworks

Key Awards: Chair of EduTeach 2022 Conference, Keynote Speaker roles, and ARC grant leadership.

Advising/Grants: Supervised over 10 doctoral and master's students, including work on Indigenous education policy and STEM literacy. Led major projects like 'Unlocking the Learning Potential of Incarcerated Low SES Youth' (ARC-funded).

Labs/Teams: Member of the STEM Education Research Group and collaborator with organizations like the Torres Strait Regional Education Council.
