Professor Grace Sarra is a Professor in the School of Early Childhood and Inclusive Education at QUT. She holds dual Indigenous heritage from the Bindal, Birri clans of the Birrigubba nation and Torres Strait Islander heritage from Mauar, Stephen, and Murray Islands. With 30 years of experience in education and leadership, her research focuses on Indigenous education pedagogy, school change, and social justice. She has secured 13 externally funded research projects, including ARC grants, addressing educational outcomes for Indigenous and low-SES youth in schools and juvenile detention centers. Her work integrates Indigenous knowledges with theoretical frameworks to challenge systemic inequities.
