Jody Currie

Professor Jody Currie is an Assistant Dean, Indigenous Health at the Faculty of Health, QUT. A Mununjahli Yugambeh woman, she holds a Bachelor of Arts from Deakin University. Her research focuses on improving healthcare accessibility for vulnerable communities, particularly Indigenous populations. Central to her work are initiatives like the Birthing in Our Community (BiOC) Program and advocacy in aged care, early childhood, and housing sectors. She serves on the National Aged Care Advisory Council and previously led the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community Health Service (ATSICHS) Brisbane. Her publication highlights Indigenous housing advocacy's role in systemic change. Professional experience includes executive leadership and board roles.
