Bridget Harris is an Associate Professor in the Department of Criminology at Monash University, serving as Director of the Monash Gender and Family Violence Prevention Centre and Convenor of Criminology. Her research focuses on technology-facilitated violence, gender-based violence, and access to justice in rural, regional, and urban contexts. She has advised governmental and non-governmental bodies, including Australia’s Victorian Royal Commission into Family Violence and the UK Parliament.
Educated at Macquarie University (Honours) and completing a PhD recognized with prestigious nominations, Harris has led over 14 research projects funded by entities like the Australian Research Council and eSafety Commissioner. Her work has informed national and international policies on domestic violence, policing, and technology.
Awarded the Australia and New Zealand Society of Criminology’s New Scholar and Outstanding Policing Research Awards, she also topped The Australian’s 2024 and 2025 rankings for criminology research. Projects include studies on elder abuse, body-worn camera efficacy, and perpetrator perspectives in technology-facilitated abuse.
