Brianne Heidbreder is an Associate Professor of Political Science at Kansas State University. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (2008), an M.A. (2004) and B.A. (2001) from Kansas State University and Minnesota State University Moorhead, respectively.
Her research focuses on the intersection of state/local politics and public administration, particularly examining gender and representation in governance. She has published in journals including State Politics and Policy Quarterly, Legislative Studies Quarterly, and State and Local Government Review.

Heidbreder teaches courses on U.S. politics, gender and politics, urban politics, and public administration. She currently serves as Faculty Director of K-State First, a program supporting new students' transition to university-level learning and college life.
