Beth A. Rosenson is an Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science at the University of Florida, within the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. She holds a Ph.D. from MIT (2000), an M.A. from Yale University (1991), and a B.A. from Wesleyan University (1987). Her research focuses on political ethics, corruption, media influence on politics, and American political development. She has published widely on legislative behavior, conflict of interest laws, and the role of media in shaping political accountability.
Her notable work includes the book Shadowlands of Conduct: Ethics and State Politics (2005), which examines conflict of interest laws for state legislators. Current research explores presidential nepotism, gendered perceptions of political courage, and media coverage of Congress. Her teaching includes courses on American Federal Government, Ethics in Politics, and Media and Politics at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
Rosenson has contributed to journals such as Legislative Studies Quarterly and State Politics and Policy Quarterly. She is also engaged in projects analyzing House ethics investigations from 1798–2011 and media framing of presidential candidates' gaffes. Her work bridges historical and contemporary issues in political accountability and institutional reform.
