Dr. Brian McCoy is a Professor of Psychology and Chair of the Criminal Psychology Department at Nichols College. He previously served as Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students at Nichols for 15 years, with prior roles in residence life at Wentworth Institute of Technology and Assumption College. He is an active NASPA leader, holding roles including Region I Conference Chair (2001), 2013 Annual Conference Chair, and member of the ACPA/NASPA Taskforce on the Future of Student Affairs (2008–2010). NASPA honored him as a Pillar of the Profession in 2018.

His research focuses on student cheating dynamics, decision-making frameworks in student affairs, and undergraduate senior year transitions. He has published in Liberal Education and NASPA's Decisions Matter, and presented widely on academic integrity and student development. He also serves as an accreditor for the New England Commission of Higher Education and provides private/public sector training programs.
