Brian Hayashi

Brian Hayashi is a Professor in the Department of History at Kent State University's College of Arts & Sciences. He specializes in US History and Japanese History, with research focusing on race and ethnicity in Asian American contexts from the late 19th century to the post-WWII era.

Research Focus: His work explores intersections of racial ideology, diasporic politics, religious assimilation, and intelligence/espionage studies. He accepts graduate students in Asian American Studies, Intelligence Studies, and WWII-era history.
