Dr. Brendan McGeever is the Julian and Virginia Cornell Visiting Professor of History at Swarthmore College for the 2024-2025 academic year. He holds a primary appointment as Senior Lecturer in Sociology at Birkbeck, University of London. His research focuses on antisemitism, racialization, Marxist theory, and the social dynamics of revolutionary movements.
McGeever's major works include Antisemitism and the Russian Revolution (Cambridge, 2019), which won multiple scholarly awards, and Britain In Fragments (Manchester UP, 2023), co-authored with Satnam Virdee. His work has appeared in Ethnic and Racial Studies, Political Quarterly, and media outlets like the Guardian and Jacobin.
