Boyd J.G. Strauss

Boyd J.G. Strauss is an Adjunct Professor of Medicine at Monash University's School of Clinical Sciences and a Reader in Medicine at the University of Manchester, UK. He holds dual appointments through Monash Health. His academic journey includes a MBBS from Monash University (1973) and a PhD from Deakin University (1988). He has held roles such as Physician-in-Charge of the Body Composition Laboratory and Director of Clinical Nutrition and Metabolism at Monash Medical Centre.

His research focuses on the interface between body composition measurement and clinical medicine, with over 140 peer-reviewed publications. Key areas include metabolic disorders, clinical nutrition, endocrinology, and bone density analysis. He has led projects funded by NHMRC Australia, including studies on polycystic ovary syndrome, osteoarthritis, and nutritional interventions.

Current affiliations include the Faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health at the University of Manchester since 2016. His work contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to health and well-being.
