Bronwyn Stuckey

Clinical Professor Bronwyn Stuckey serves in the Medical School at the University of Western Australia with a focus in Internal Medicine. She holds dual appointments as Medical Director of the Keogh Institute for Medical Research since 1995 and Clinical Professor at UWA since 2007. Previously, she served as Head of Department of Endocrinology and Diabetes at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital in Perth, Western Australia, and maintains her role as a consultant physician at this institution.

Professor Stuckey's research interests center on endocrinology with specific expertise in female and male reproductive endocrinology and calcium and bone metabolism. Her work significantly contributes to understanding women's midlife health, polycystic ovary syndrome, diabetes, and cardiovascular implications of hormone therapy. She has established herself as a leading expert in reproductive endocrinology with particular focus on menopausal health issues.

Her recent scholarly output demonstrates continued active research engagement, with publications spanning diabetes risk modeling, testosterone therapy applications, genetic studies of polycystic ovary syndrome, and cardiovascular implications of hormonal treatments. Professor Stuckey has secured significant research funding including the Testosterone for Diabetes Mellitus (T4DM) trial funded by Bayer Australia Ltd (2018-2021) and earlier research on DHA-enriched fish oil supplementation for women with polycystic ovary syndrome funded by Parke Davis/Pfizer CVL. Her leadership extends to her position as Past President of the Australasian Menopause Society and ongoing directorship at the Keogh Institute for Medical Research where she has guided research direction for nearly three decades.

At the Keogh Institute for Medical Research, which she has directed since 1995, Professor Stuckey oversees a multidisciplinary team focused on endocrine and metabolic research. Her laboratory work integrates clinical observations with translational research to address critical questions in reproductive endocrinology and metabolic disorders. The institute serves as a hub for collaboration between clinicians, researchers, and students pursuing advancements in endocrine science and patient care.
