Her work has significantly contributed to understanding the underpinnings of diminished ovarian reserve in reproductive age women and the relevance of vitamin D for reproductive physiology. She has pioneered research on the role of vitamin D in the pathophysiology of PCOS and has conducted clinical trials examining vitamin D and calcium supplementation's effects on glucose and insulin homeostasis in women with PCOS. Her research has been instrumental in advancing our understanding of reproductive endocrinology and improving patient care in these specialized areas.
Dr. Pal's recent publications demonstrate a strong focus on the intersection of reproductive health with broader aspects of women's health, including cardiovascular outcomes, cognitive function, and metabolic health during menopause transition. Her work with the KEEPS (Kronos Early Estrogen Prevention Study) Continuation has provided valuable insights into long-term cognitive effects of menopausal hormone therapy. She has also made significant contributions to understanding racial disparities in reproductive outcomes and the impact of environmental factors like triclosan on reproductive health.
