Boris Bove is a Professor of medieval history at the University of Rouen since 2021. He holds a Doctorate in History from the University of Poitiers (2000) and an accreditation to supervise research (2018). His research focuses on urban history, socio-political elites, medieval space, and the Hundred Years’ War, with particular emphasis on Paris and Rouen. He has led major research projects including the ANR ALPAGE (2006-2009) and ANR e-NDP (2021-2026), and contributes to scientific networks like the French Society of Urban History and the editorial boards of journals such as Histoire Urbaine and Médiévales.
Key works include France during the Hundred Years’ War (2009) and co-edited volumes like Notre-Dame and the Hôtel de Ville (2022). He has pioneered digital humanities applications, such as the ALPAGE geomatic project mapping medieval Paris. His recent studies address royal itineraries and urban governance dynamics. Awards include the Grand Prix de l’Histoire de Paris (2015).
Bove’s research integrates archival analysis with spatial methodologies, examining elite networks, urban conflict, and medieval city-state relations. He advises grants on medieval urban history and collaborates on projects like the Paris Basin itineraries corpus. His work bridges historical narrative with innovative methodological approaches.
